What to Expect During a Dermalux LED Light Treatment
1. Consultation
Before the treatment, you may have a consultation with a skincare professional to discuss your skin concerns (e.g., acne, aging, pigmentation, or inflammation).
They will assess your skin type and recommend the appropriate light wavelengths and treatment plan.
2. Preparation
Cleansing: Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed to remove makeup, dirt, and oils.
Protective Gear: You’ll be given protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the bright LED light.

3. Treatment
Light Application: The LED device emits specific wavelengths of light that penetrate the skin at different depths. The most common wavelengths used are:

4. Post-Treatment
Immediate Results: Some clients notice an immediate glow and improved skin texture after the first session.
No Downtime: You can resume your normal activities right after the treatment—no recovery time is needed.
Skincare Recommendations: Your practitioner may recommend specific skincare products to enhance and maintain the results.
How does it work

Our skin has the ability to absorb light energy and use it to stimulate or regulate essential cell processes. LED Phototherapy is the application of beneficial wavelengths from the visible and infrared part of the light spectrum which have proven skin enhancing benefits. Skin cells that are energised function better and can renew up to 200% faster accelerating regeneration and repair.

Aftercare following a Dermalux LED Light Therapy treatment is simple and straightforward, as the procedure is non-invasive and requires no downtime. However, following these aftercare tips will help you maximize the results and maintain the health and appearance of your skin:
1. Keep Your Skin Hydrated
Drink Water: Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water to help your skin recover and maintain its glow.
Moisturize: Use a gentle, hydrating moisturizer to lock in moisture and support your skin’s barrier function.
2. Avoid Sun Exposure
Wear Sunscreen: Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily, even if you’re indoors. LED light therapy can make your skin more sensitive to UV rays.
Limit Direct Sunlight: Avoid prolonged sun exposure for at least 48 hours after the treatment. If you must go outside, wear a wide-brimmed hat and seek shade.
3. Skip Harsh Skincare Products
Avoid Active Ingredients: For 24-48 hours after the treatment, avoid using products containing retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), or strong exfoliants.
Use Gentle Products: Stick to a gentle cleanser and soothing skincare products to avoid irritation.
4. Avoid Heat-Based Treatments
No Saunas or Steam Rooms: Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, or intense workouts for 24 hours after the treatment to prevent overheating and irritation.
Skip Other Facial Treatments: Wait at least 48 hours before undergoing other facial treatments like chemical peels or microdermabrasion.
5. Maintain a Healthy Skincare Routine
Cleanse Gently: Use a mild cleanser to keep your skin clean without stripping its natural oils.
Serums and Masks: Incorporate hydrating serums or masks to boost your skin’s recovery and enhance the results of the treatment.
6. Avoid Touching Your Face
Minimize Contact: Avoid touching or picking at your skin to prevent introducing bacteria or causing irritation.
7. Follow Your Practitioner’s Advice
Custom Recommendations: Your skincare professional may provide specific aftercare instructions tailored to your skin type and concerns. Follow their advice for the best results.
Schedule Follow-Up Treatments: For optimal results, stick to the recommended treatment plan (e.g., 6-8 sessions spaced 1-2 weeks apart).
8. Monitor Your Skin
Normal Reactions: Some redness or mild sensitivity is normal immediately after the treatment but should subside within a few hours.
Unusual Reactions: If you experience prolonged redness, swelling, or irritation, contact your skincare professional.
9. Stay Consistent
Regular Treatments: LED light therapy works best with consistent sessions. Follow your treatment plan to achieve and maintain your desired results.
